Serving young people not only helps them grow as future leaders, but it also allows them to contribute to the church. This is evident throughout the Bible, where God frequently uses young people to accomplish great things. When Timothy was a teenager, God used him to pastor and head the Ephesian church. “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young,” 1 Timothy 4:12 advises, “but set an example for the believers in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.” In order to effectively communicate with young people, youth ministry is founded on biblical principles. Furthermore, it is aware of contemporary Christian influences, allowing the ministry to identify with youth and form meaningful relationships with them.
