Rehoboth Church - Kid's  Group

Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them .But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” 16 And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them. Mk.10:13-16.

Based on the above Scripture, we consider children ministry a serious ministry in our Church. If the Lord Jesus is impressed with the little ones so we are to follow His footsteps. In fact, we are given the responsibility to raise the children in all godly ways.

Rehoboth The Living Church is built with the core values of Lord Jesus Christ and His Word as the centre. The congregation is mainly consists of Indian-Srilankan background. The second generation Christians find it easy to bring their children along with them to Church every Sunday.

The children aged from 3 to 15 are encouraged to be in Sunday School. The teachers who handle these kids are trained and equipped in the Word of God. They dedicate themselves to this royal cause and glorify our Lord.

We have different levels based on their ages. They are namely, a. Beginners, b. Primary, c. Juniors and d. Seniors.

Indian-Srilankan Parents who are the part of Rehoboth Church committed their children to this ministry. In return, their little ones are submissive to the Lord and to their parents. They get inspired by the Word of God every time they come to Sunday School.

“Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders of Nation” is the world saying. When we refer spiritually, today’s children are pillars of church in future. Having this in mind, every teacher who are committed to teach the child pay careful attention to their spiritual needs.

The parents are excited to bring their children to church because they know their kids will learn God’s word. It does not stop there. The young ones put the Word in practice and it brings glory unto the Maker of heaven and earth. As Apostle Paul commended young Timothy, our children are highly appreciated for their steadfastness in applying faith in day to day lie.

Whenever any Indian-Srilankan family visit our church and if we find their children are 15 or below, we prepare ourselves to offer Spiritual service to them. At times, those kids would hesitate to leave their parents and we let them to stay with their moms and dads. The reason we do it is not just to embarrass at their very first visit.

Our dear Lord Jesus is mindful of even one sparrow which is so least on the earth. And if He is concern of poor creature, how much would He be of our precious children! God has a fantastic plan for every child. When every parent realize it as Hannah did, we would be able to raise them as Prophet Samuels etc. When the children come to church, the staff in Children Ministry turn to be their spiritual guides. It is a great joy and privilege to serve the young ones nourishing them with Word so on and so forth.

May the mighty hand of God be upon the teachers and children of Rehoboth
